I would like to see the Commissioner's and the public think of ways to build a youth center , skating rink, arcade something for kids. I grew up in Portland and went skating most saturdays, which was a treat. Kids like to gather, let's give them a safe place. Seaside's doing a darn good job of it. www.sunsetempire.com/ It would be nice if the bus ran longer and its route was bigger so kids from Knappa to Jewell could enjoy its benefits. With the skate park, the pool and the youth center right there Seaside is really doing good by its kids. BOCC could think about funnelling more money to the bus so more kids throughout the county could enjoy Sunset Empire Parks & Rec programs.

Do you mean "bologna"? Or do you mean you are bull loony? From talking to others (yeah, actually using one's mouth to verbalize instead of a keyboard) the internet to get local news is used by only about 5 percent of the locals. The politicos here know that so they use their energy accordingly. They are watching the ones that are dabbling and appreciate the experiments. But that is all we are at this point, guinea pigs. They watch the interaction with the ...s, see what happens when we feed the trolls and how much to pay heed to the rest. As the price of the paper grows and the local content continues to be "corrected" or ignored the internet will grow and then maybe the politician "corner" will be used more often. Whether or not the loon thinks it is for the butt savers or those who are willing to put their butts on the line. This "Cyber Rag" is an ongoing test is it, gauged on and influenced by the input of one individual? Such Dillusional Logic. Could this be, rather, a 10 year or so mission to exact revenge on the local District Attorney for some slght of prosecution inflicted on some party involved with all these "Hate Filled" Message Boards attributed to or associated with this North Coast Oregon site? God help any responsible politician that even comes close to thinking they can get any positive traction on this site. Are you a complete lunatic? In the last three months the DA was mentioned in ONE story. According to Clatsop County Court documents, John Seeley’s criminal conviction (which will be completely erased by District Attorney Marquis’ office deferred sentencing arrangement) of Criminal Mistreatment in the First Degree stems from an incident which happened in 2001 when the Seeleys’ daughter was nine years old.Hardly sounds like an indictment of the DA or "10 year or so mission to exact revenge on the local District Attorney for some slght of prosecution". As a matter of fact, before that article he's rarely mentioned in over six months and only when a court case calls for it. Doesn't really read like NCO was developed as a personal crusade to go after the DA. Reads more like you're a jealous nutbag who uses his own reasons for developing a website and thinks that's the only reason why other's would do the same thing. What kind of a nutbag continuously reads and posts on sites that he despises and calls "rags"? I don't go to any of your sites, don't post at them. I don't go to Daily Astorian's, don't buy it, I must admit I do read it at the coffee shop if I am there w/o the mayor. Sort of like sneaking a peak at the National Enquirer while waiting to get my hair clipped.

Wow! I'm impressed what you and Rick do while playing in your tree house. Too bad you abandoned the idea in August. Under achievers. Maybe you and Rick should reply to one another a couple more times with anon names to make it look like more people are interested.

Another "No Name" gets jealous and whines at somebody trying to make a difference. Poor critter can't use "its" name for any reason out of "Peer fear" to even take credit for anything other than spewing the BS "it" spews among "its" spineless comrades. And why do I come here? Just to witness this nonesense. Who the hell do these idiots vote for I wonder?

Only those at NCO know what they are doing and obviously not impressing anyone in their doing of it other than that suspected crazy woman and her made-up army of "anonyms" all at the oversight, or lack thereof, of the site's alleged owner. This seems akin to CCBofC' warped concept of "Community Building". Witihin their circle it seems to make sense to at least three of them but doesn't get traction with anybody else.

The Lum's building is empty, Hayward is empty. Why can't the city, county purchase them. Build an arcade, with fighting fisherman stuff, warrenton, seaside banners, etc for prizes. Digital or 45mm pictures for sale with costumes. Hold a karaoke contest once a month, host an talent contest . The students can take turns for "security". Parents can donate time. Donate food to the food bank every sunday for admission. Let's give the kids, students a place to meet. How hard can that be? A skating rink would help! Don't we have one on 16th? Who owns it? Open it back up, isn't it just sitting there? We lack a boys club, girls club or ymca.

Right, stick the property taxpayers with a couple of ancient buildings in a downtown commercial area and just keep pouring money into them. Great idea. It will lessen the tax income the city recieves and be a constant drain on a budget. I think it would make more sense for the city to fix some of these d**n streets than build an "arcade"

But I guess it's because you get tired of talking to yourself over on those two cut'n paste cheeseball whizzbang cyber rags that you pretentiously label a "journal" and a "blog". You sure wow the www with the traction and community building you've accomplished there. Well, at least it seems to make sense to you and your circle/army of one.

What used to be the National Guard Armory directly behind and attached to old Astoria City Hall, now Clatsop County Historical Society used to allow skating up till fairly recently on the main floor but, I think it has been taken over by archive storage by Columbia River Maritime Museum and/or The Historical Society itself. It may be worth a call to somebody to find out its status.

Lest not forget, I, like you, even in your anonymity, am a private citizen, not elected or public in any way and have every right to protections agaisnt libel, on and off the internet and NCO should be fully aware of how such carelessness in ethics and integrity can be very detrimental. Maybe their attorney should present an opinion in their behalf on libel issues. Could it be I am just collecting documentation?

I don't have a clue myself but, would like to know that there are a few, indeed, really trying and they should, be recognized. Give us a good try at it though would you?
